The feature video showing Sharon Freisen's presentation on Creating a Thinking Generation is very worthwhile and relevant. She speaks about the skill set that teachers need today where students are no longer expected to regurgitate information but rather be the creators of new knowledge and understandings. I have added the presentation on Food for Thought as it would be a good video to show in a staff meeting.

Greg Gebhart is an Australian educator who now works as a consultant on the use and implementation of new and emerging technologies. Greg’s specialist areas include the use of Web 2.0 technologies and internet safety for children. The main ideas from his keynote at a recent Teacher only day are worth reading as although he was addressing highschool teachers the message is very relevant for primary school teachers as well.
Miriam Tuohy, librarian/information literacy expert at Russell St presented her thoughts on the Information Landscape to the Te Apiti cluster teachers. Her presentation can be seen by clicking on the link.

Tumblebooks is a website full of exciting literacy resources for both primary and secondary students. TumbleBookLibrary is a collection of online animated talking books combining animation, narration with sound and music. TumbleReadables is a collection of read-along titles for both primary and secondary. TumbleTalkingBooks is an online audio library. These are exciting e-learning tools to support literacy in classrooms. http://www.tumblebooks.com/
